ABOUT THE DESIGN

Based on the famous story by Roald Dahl, this show is a fun filled musical that captures the great adventure and the true heart the original story has. It was produced by Emerson Stage as the Theater For Young Audiences (TYA) show of the ‘16-’17 season.

Designed by Emerson professor Tim Jozwick. The director wanted to play with the idea of scale in this production. He wanted to create a world where a giant peach could be shown rolling down a landscape and also been the setting of a dance number. The way the designer solved this was through a puppet pit in the front of the stage, where small groundrows and stick puppets could represent these huge objects that are in the show. And also a series of peach slices that flew in and out to create a dimensional giant peach on stage.
